Marcus Rashford, actor Tom Hardy and activist Greta Thunberg feature in an issue of the Beano written for adults to reflect on the events of 2020.

BeanOLD, a pull-out inside this week's issue, will feature Dennis the Menace's parents looking back on Zoom quizzes, home-schooling, toilet roll shortages and delayed Bond films.

The comic, first released in 1938, is associated with characters including the Bash Street Kids and Gnasher.

Its first issue for grown-ups will show Dennis's father get work in the Elf Service, having lost his previous job.

Manchester United striker Rashford, who has campaigned for free school meals, visits Beanotown to receive an honorary MBE (Member of the Beano Elf-service).

He also helps save Christmas by rumbling Wilbur Brown and Walter the Softy's plan to steal all the presents.

Laughs

"We love bringing kids laughs, but 2020 has been so tough that for the first time in 82 years we've created a comic that kids can give to adults to share some much-needed Beano LOLZ," said Beano editor Mike Stirling.
