Banks tighten squeeze

LENDING from Irish banks became "more restrictive" during the third quarter of this year, even though there was a slight increase in the demand for business loans.

The eurozone bank lending survey found that banks showed little change in their actual credit standards and they remained noticeably tightened. Irish banks found it difficult to access funds on the international markets, the survey showed.
