Banks' 100 court cases
A TOTAL of 11 Irish banks have begun almost 100 High Court actions since the beginning of 2011.
It is understood that the majority of the cases involve multi-million euro commercial loans. Bailed-out AIB and Bank of Ireland have filed 27 cases each, while Ulster Bank has launched 19 actions and the ACC has 11. Other banks filing suits in 2011 include Bank of Scotland, Danske (trading as National Irish Bank), KBC, EBS and Permanent TSB.
