Avoca to create another 80 jobs
IRISH family-owned home retailer Avoca will add 80 new jobs this summer as it recorded a 3pc jump in profits last year.
The company said that profits jumped to €1.64m within the year, according to accounts filed by Avoca Handweavers Ltd.
They also show that group revenues increased by 6pc from €45.9m to €48.6m in the 12 months to the end of January last year.
And the luxury household, clothing and food company saw employee levels rising from 568 to 597 last year.
The company has gone from strength to strength from its small Wicklow base. It now has 10 stores and cafes in Ireland, and in November opened its foodhall in Monkstown, creating 30 jobs.
