Australia jobs blow as talks collapse
HIGH-level negotiations between Australian authorities and the Irish Government to bring 150,000 skilled workers down under have collapsed.
Australian training minister Peter Collier (right) has blamed his government's "Neanderthal" visa-processing programme.
Last year a delegation of business people from Western Australia, joined by Mr Collier, visited Ireland on a recruitment drive.
However, there has been little progress in talks about visa requirements, and this is acting as a barrier to the entry of Irish workers.
