Attenborough's dream to find mythical Yeti

He has travelled the world bringing some of nature's most amazing animals to our screen, but there is still one creature David Attenborough would like to find - the Abominable Snowman.

The broadcaster (inset), who is presenting a new series called David Attenborough's Natural Curiosities, said there were "one or two" mythical creatures he would like to find. He said: "I wouldn't mind finding the Abominable Snowman for a start," he said.

"There is still a mystery about the Abominable Snowman - there are teeth that were found back in the 1920s, huge molar teeth about six times the size of ours, found in a Chinese drug store and undoubtedly they are the teeth of a giant ape that must have lived relatively recently and could have been the Abominable Snowman."

The creature, also known as the Yeti, is often described as a giant ape and sightings have been reported in Nepal and Tibet.

Attenborough will also examine leopards and ravens in the new series.
