... as BOD tackles Twitter 'idiot' in cancer row
RUGBY hero Brian O'Driscoll has leapt to the defence of cancer campaigners.
The Irish captain was quick to defend those looking to promote Breast Cancer Awareness last night after a fan posted a comment on his social networking site saying discussing the disease was a "pet hate".
Drico immediately responded on Twitter to vent his anger: "You idiot. It's to promote awareness for the need to check regularly."
The 33-year-old, who is currently out of action with a shoulder injury, then added:
"Don't throw that s**t out and think it's ok."
The star centre was forced to cancel his appearance at the Leinster Ladies Night at the RDS before the Blues' match against Scarlets.
The event was hosted in aid of Breast Cancer Awareness.
Luckily, out-half Johnny Sexton willingly filled in for the Number 13 and took to the stage for a question and answer session with team mate, full back Rob Kearney.
"Unfortunately I had to be replaced by Johnny Sexton for the Q&A tonight in the RDS. Turn out to support Breast Cancer Awareness," BOD wrote to his 145,820 followers online.
Over 300 female fans turned out to enjoy an evening of pampering and entertainment.
Meanwhile, Amy Huberman's hubby has been tipped to carry the Olympic torch through Dublin, alongside legendary runner Sonia O'Sullivan next summer, when it arrives in the Republic.
