Appeal for aid in tracing teen Hook to sue journalist Man denies city murder Boy charged with burglary

Gardai at Swords are appealing to the public for assistance in tracing the whereabouts of teenager Charlotte Donoghue.

Charlotte (15) is described as being 5ft 5in, of medium build with brown eyes and dyed red hair. She was last seen on March 24 last at about 4.30pm in Swords. She was wearing brown slacks, a brown leatherette jacket and black flip flops. She had a large, gold handbag in her possession. A garda spokesman said: "Her known haunts include Dublin city centre."



Hook to sue journalist

Broadcaster and rugby pundit George Hook intends to sue a Sunday Tribune journalist for defamation of character, the County Registrar's Court has heard.

Hook has already issued defamation proceedings against Tribune Newspapers Plc, in relation to an article that appeared in the Sunday Tribune in October last year.

Hook (69), of Foxrock Park, Foxrock, Dublin 18, now seeks to join journalist Eithni Tynan, Kilbaha, Kilrush, Co Clare, to the proceedings on the grounds she was the author of the alleged defamatory article. The hearing was adjourned.



Man denies city murder

A man has pleaded not guilty to murdering a man and attempting to murder two others in the capital.

David Patchell (21) of Rossfield Crescent, Tallaght, pleaded not guilty at the Central Criminal Court to the murder of Stephen O'Halloran on or about January 19, 2009, at Kilmartin Drive, Tallaght.

He also pleaded not guilty to the attempted murder of Paul Core and Anthony Harte, and to intentionally or recklessly causing serious harm to both men on the same occasion.



Boy charged with burglary

A boy has been accused of causing €2,000 worth of damage to a pub's air conditioning system.

The teen (17) has been charged at the Children's Court with criminal damage and burglary at the Kinsealy Inn, in Swords, in Dublin.

Judge Leonard remanded the teen, who is being held in custody in relation to other charges, to appear again in May.
