Aoife and Gordon snuggle up to their bundle of joy - a pooch named Albert

There's a spring in the step of our rugby-loving households. BOD and Amy Huberman, along with Leo Cullen and his wife Dairine, will be hearing the pitter-patter of tiny feet this November.

And the Diary can reveal how Aoife Cogan (31) and Gordon D'Arcy (33) have welcomed in their own new addition to their family - an adorable puppy named Albert.

The pair already have a Bernese Mountain dog named Wilson, who they dote on - and now they have a companion for him.

Calling him "our beautiful new fur baby", Aoife posted a photo of the cute pooch along with the message: "Welcome baby Albert."

"He's a little dote, he's a Leon Berger," Aoife told the Diary.

Aoife has spoken before how the couple would "love to have kids" at some point.

"Kids are a blessing and we hope to have some in the future. But nothing to report yet," she said.

She and Gordon, who married in a lavish ceremony at Castle Leslie in July 2012, have now joined forces in business too after setting up popular fitness studio Form School.

And the former Miss Ireland recently described the venture as "my baby now" after deciding to shelve her successful modelling career.

"I definitely can't do shows any more because it's too time-consuming. That would be taking 12 hours out of my day," she said.

They set up their Grattan Street school last year and it proved to be a massive hit with celebrities and mere mortals alike hoping to get a figure like leggy Aoife.

Speaking about the venture, she said: "It's all-consuming. I'm here front-of-house every day. When I can do a modelling job, it's usually on my break. But to be honest, modelling has definitely taken a back seat."

The Castleknock native added: "I've been modelling for 14 years and I've loved every minute of it.

"It's an amazing career. I'm very lucky to have been doing it this long.

"But it's time for a new challenge and I'm loving this, I really am."

Her Leinster star husband is also a big fan of pilates and has even managed to coerce members of the Leinster team into the studio to try out a class or two as they work on their core fitness.

It's not their only venture - they also co-own the Exchequer Bars in the city centre and Ranelagh.
