Anglo boss bows out

THE SECOND most senior executive on the new management team at Anglo Irish Bank is stepping down from the institution after just over a year.

Dutch banker Maarten Van Eden was installed by the Government at the bank but has now given notice of his intention to leave at an agreed date between April 30 and June 30, Anglo said in a statement.

It's believed Mr Van Eden had grown unhappy with the day-to-day interaction and process of dealing with the State authorities.
