Angel Nico (4) killed in freak accident

A HEARTBROKEN couple have described their devastation after their little boy was killed in a freak accident.

Nico Price (4) was fatally injured when the wheel of a lorry fell on him at his father's breaker's yard behind their home in Burnfoot Co Donegal.

Wendy and Neil Price described Nico, one of 11 children, as a "little angel".

Meanwhile, road accidents claimed the lives of four other people over the weekend. The latest victim was a woman in her 20s who was killed in a three-car crash last night in Co Limerick.

The smash happened on the N21 at Garryduff near Newcastle West shortly after 10pm.

In Co Kerry, 27-year-old mother-of-one Louise McKenna was killed when a car in which she was a front-seat passenger went out of control and crashed.

The collision happened at 3.30am yesterday about one mile from Lixnaw on the Abbeydorney road, Co Kerry.

A 23-year-old man died in hospital from serious injuries after he lost control of his car on the R191 at Tullylorcan, Beglieve, Co Cavan, at around 1.30am yesterday.

Today, a 37-year-old motorcyclist who died following a collision between his bike and a car has been named. The accident happened at Newcastle, Castletroy, about 7pm on Saturday. He was Gary McInerney of Woodview Park, Limerick.
