Andrea's dog day afternoon as 'labour of love' launched
It was a barking mad affair at the launch of a new book by TV3's Andrea Hayes.
Children and canines alike congregated at House Dublin on Leeson Street yesterday to join in the celebrations for her latest tome, Dog Tales, which is named after the TV programme and based on Andrea's time working with Dogs Trust.
She was all smiles as she welcomed guests, having recently revealed she is three months pregnant with her second baby - a sibling for daughter Brooke (6).
"I'm tired. I've had all the lovely things that you get with pregnancy. Complete exhaustion, complete baby brain, nausea, everything but it's really, really positive," she told the Diary.
"We're so thrilled but, unfortunately, I'm not operating to the same ability as I normally do.
"So it's impossible for me to keep everything going but I'm so happy and we're taking everything one day at a time."
Andrea said the book was a "real labour of love" and her two passions were reflected at the launch.
"To have children and dogs together on a Sunday afternoon is the perfect package to me, because it's all about educating the next generation so they know that animals aren't disposable and are part of a family," she said.
Andrea added that she is putting work on the back burner for now.
Also celebrating was fellow TV presenter Jenny Buckley, who revealed she is four months pregnant with baby number two, but was still cutting a super-chic figure. She already has little girl Jude with husband Gareth and number two is due in April.
Other attendees included Valerie Roe, RTE's Maureen Catterson, Aisling Holly from Enhance Medical, TV3's Debbie O'Donnell and stylist Roxanne Parker.
