A TALENTED Dublin student has danced her way to eight A1s in the Leaving Cert.

Imogen Grumley Traynor (18) was described by her school principal as an "amazing student".

Imogen studied at the German school, St Kilian's in Clonskeagh, and its head, Alice Lynch, said the student was a "marvellous ambassador for the school".

"She is a pleasure to teach. She is a great dancer and a talented musician," Ms Lynch said.

Imogen, from Dundrum, Dublin, said she was under strict instructions to contact her brother Killian first when she got the result.

"I went down to the school at 10am and I was surprised at the number of people who were already there," she said.

"I was with my mum; my dad and brother were at home. I was told to text him first," she said of Killian.

"It's absolutely surreal at the moment. I was shocked because I didn't think that I'd done that well," delighted Imogen explained.

She will now go on to study linguistics at Cambridge University.
