Allen's girl isn't a downton abbey fan
Allen Leech's girlfriend has admitted that she didn't know who the Downton Abbey star was when they first met.
Sports presenter Charlie Webster also revealed that she had never even heard of the hit period drama when they met at a charity bash four months ago.
"There is a running joke between us and the Downton cast because I had no idea who he was when I met him," she said.
"We were at a charity event for Centre Point in May. We were playing table football and I was thinking 'he's really lovely and very handsome and really funny, he's got a good smile'.
"The whole time I was noticing all these things about him but I had no clue who he was.
"It wasn't until later in the evening that I was told he was on Downton but I had never watched it before."
The screen siren also said that Dubliner Allen (33) finds it funny that she still hasn't watched a single episode of the top drama.
"I know pretty much everything about it. I can tell you exactly what is going to be happening, it's going to be good.
"And I am planning to watch it. I said to Allen I would watch all the box sets for him," she said.
The English presenter (31) also revealed that they try to travel together as their jobs take them to different countries.
"We are really supportive of each other's career and of each other as people.
"He's been to quite a few things with me, so we make sure we work it together," she said.
"I was doing Formula One recently and flew off on holiday straight after that. It's a lot of fun."
Charlie was a sports presenter on Sky Sports for four years until March of this year. In April, she made TV history by becoming the first female presenter of international boxing coverage on Eurosport and she said Allen has been supporting her all the way.
"I was very focused on what I was doing with my life, and I knew that if I met someone and there was a spark, that would be it. It just happened, and Allen and I are very happy together and I feel really comfortable in myself," she said.
Charlie recently accompanied her Irish hunk to the Toronto Film Festival where his new film with Keira Knightley and Benedict Cumberbatch, The Imitation Game, won the People's Choice Award.
Previous winners of the prestigious award include 12 Years a Slave, The King's Speech and Slumdog Millionaire.
