Aer Lingus sale must land €89m
THE Government is pressing ahead with a decision to sell its 25pc interest in Aer Lingus.
The final decision will be made when the stake has been valued, a Government spokesman said.
But it is reported that the move would be subject to it receiving a premium on the value of the holding, which stands at €89m.
However, it's not expected that the stake would be sold this year.
A representative for the Department of Transport said: "Any sale would have to realise sufficient value, as recommended by the (Government-commissioned) McCarthy Report.
"The stake would only be sold to the right buyer, at the right time, at the right price, with the right conditions."
