Aer Lingus Paris route

AER LINGUS signalled its support for Shannon airport after it revealed it would resume its Paris-Charles de Gaulle service from December.

The new Shannon service will have three weekly return flights.

Budget airline Ryanair is preparing to pull its Paris service from Shannon next week.

Ryanair also said it would reduce flights at its Frankfurt Hahn airport base from the summer of next year, saying an €8 tax by the German government makes the country an "uncompetitive tourist destination".

The service will be cut from 11 to eight aircraft with 30pc fewer flights each week.
