Accused was shocked at killing
THE DUBLIN socialite accused of murdering an 81-year-old woman told police she was shocked when she heard about the killing.
Karen Walsh -- who lived in a suite at the Berkeley Court Hotel -- is on trial for the sex killing of OAP Marie Rankin.
Ms Walsh -- the wife of a top Dublin financier -- felt "they [police] are probably going to think it was me", her trial was told.
"I thought to myself, 'sweet divine, what will I do? I was the last person in there'," Ms Walsh told a police officer during a taped interview.
Ms Rankin was beaten to death in the early hours of Christmas Day 2008 at her home in Newry.
