A slice of summer is here until Friday

Our Indian Summer is here to stay for another while yet.

The sunny weather is expected to continue until Friday, as Met Eireann forecast very little rainfall and temperatures well above average for this time of year.

Tomorrow will remain relatively warm and dry but Wednesday is due to be the hottest day of the week, with temperatures reaching 22C.

FLOW

Forecaster John Eagleton said that this is mainly down to a weather flow coming up from Spain and France.

"Everyone always says that the weather picks up when the kids go back to school and it is certainly true this year," he said.

"This is a continuation of the summer. August was very average. It was not a great month but this is summer weather we're having now."

We can expect temperatures well above the average of 15C to 18C degrees with very little rain.
