a BUILDING company is seeking injunctions against a trade union over alleged incidents at a building site in west Dublin.

JJ Rhatigan and Co, which last month got injunctions restricting picketing by Unite Trade Union members at a number of Dublin sites, yesterday launched fresh High Court proceedings against the union over alleged conduct at an apartment building site at St Edmunds, St Loman's Road, Palmerstown, Dublin.

Tom Mallon Bl, for Rhatigans, said work at the site has stopped following what were "very serious and sinister" incidents.

Counsel said about 10 individuals turned up at the site wearing bibs with trade union's name on them and flew Unite flags. Vehicles trying to enter and exit the site were blocked. Mr Justice Gilligan granted Rhatigans permission to serve notice of injunction proceedings on Unite and a number of individuals and said the case could come back before him on Monday.
