A TEENAGE girl who suffered a shoulder injury at birth yesterday settled her High Court action for €380,000.
Mary Griffin (15) from Shanacloon, Fermoy, Co Cork the High Court heard suffers from Erbs Palsy.
Through her father Donal, she had sued consultant obstetrician Patrick Kieran of Orchard Road, Cork city and Bon Secours Health System Limited, College Road, Cork over alleged negligence during her birth at the Bon Secours Hospital, Cork in 1997.
Ms Justice Mary Irvine was told the settlement was against Mr Kieran and was without admission of liability and no order was made against Bon Secours.

Actress Lucy Lawless has pleaded guilty to trespass after she and other environmental activists protested aboard an oil-drilling ship docked in New Zealand.
She is due to be sentenced in September and faces a maximum three years in jail.
Lawless (44) a native New Zealander, is best known for her title role in the TV series Xena: Warrior Princess.
DNA tests confirm that a severed hand and foot mailed to schools in Vancouver belong to the alleged victim of a suspect arrested this month in Germany for his involvement in a cannibalistic murder.
Police said the body parts belong to Jun Lin (32) a student from China who was at Montreal's Concordia University. The head is still missing.
Canadian Luka Rocco Magnotta (29) is in custody facing a murder charge.

The trial of a couple accused of slashing a journalist's face after a row outside a restaurant has reached its closing stages.
At Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, Ruth Barry (33) of Caledon Road, East Wall, has denied using a blade, robbery and recklessly causing harm to Jennifer Bray, a freelance reporter, and assaulting Neil Callanan.
Ms Barry's boyfriend, Jonathan O'Brien (31) of Upper Dominic Street has denied slashing Ms Bray's face and using a knife in a dispute on June 25, 2010.
