21 killed as bus goes over cliff

a bus heading to a beach in western Mexico went off a cliff, killing at least 21 people and inuring another 29.

The passengers were holiday-makers from the northern state of Chihuahua, heading to Guayabitos beach on Nayarit's coast.

Investigators are still trying to determine what caused the bus to veer off the road.

Murder trial jury undecided

The jury in the murder trial of Jonathan 'Yuka' Douglas, of O'Devaney Gardens, Dublin, a 27-year-old man accused of shooting dead Aidan Byrne, has been sent home for the weekend after failing to reach a verdict.

The 10-day trial reached its closing stages on Thursday at the Central Criminal Court and the jury commenced its deliberations yesterday morning.

Guilty plea to US bomb plot

Rezwan Ferdaus (26) pleaded guilty to plotting to bomb the US Capitol and the Pentagon using remote-controlled aircraft.

At a change-of-plea hearing in Boston, he admitted attempting to damage a federal building and attempting to provide material support to terrorists.
