16 breach €200k cap

SIXTEEN people working in NAMA and the National Treasury Management Agency breach the €200,000 salary cap for public service employees.

Public Expenditure & Reform Minister Brendan Howlin (right) made the revelation, saying the agencies have been left out of the new arrangements because they are not subject to civil service norms.

He said the individuals in the NTMA and NAMA were recruited on an individual basis to specific jobs and pay rates were negotiated for them.

Mr Howlin said he would be seeing if the 16 people could help share the burden.
