125 Game jobs on the line here

THE future of 125 jobs in Ireland are under threat as British retailer Game heads for administration.

The company is reaching end game as sales dropped and its financial position weakens.

Game has suspended shares in London after admitting there was no equity value left in the business.

The firm, which has 13 outlets in Ireland, said the board now considers itself "unable to assess the business's financial position, and is of the opinion that there is no equity value left in the group".

It then moved to have an administrator -- similar to an examiner in Ireland -- appointed to the firm.

Soldiers lead Mali mutiny

Mutinous soldiers in Mali have taken over state television and announced that they have seized control of the government.

The soldiers said the coup was necessary because of the mishandling of an insurgency in the north.

They have seized control of the seat of government, but could not find democratically elected leader president Amadou Toumani Toure, who is in hiding.

Workers ill at national park

Authorities are trying to determine what made several employees at Joshua Tree National Park suddenly become ill.

The administrative headquarters was evacuated and closed yesterday afternoon and hazardous materials teams were called to the scene. The employees reported a sudden onset of symptoms, including skin irritation, respiratory distress, nausea and eye irritation, after working in the US park's mailroom.

A hazmat team decontaminated 11 workers.

No life on ocean wave for Grant

He may be one of the stars of a new pirate movie, but Hugh Grant has admitted life on the ocean would not suit him in real life -- because he gets seasick.

The 51-year-old actor, best known for starring in romantic comedies such as Bridget Jones's Diary, About A Boy and Notting Hill, makes his animated debut as the Pirate Captain in The Pirates! In An Adventure With Scientists. "I've always dreaded the sea," he said.
