100 new jobs as stores merge

THE redevelopment of the Currys and PC World electrical stores in Ireland will create 100 new jobs.

The two retailers are to be brought together under one roof at a number of undisclosed locations over the next 18 months.

Parent company DSG Retail Ireland said none of its current 28 stores or hundreds of employees will be affected by the expansion.



Priest killed in rectory kitchen

A US grand jury indicted a church's longtime caretaker over the fatal stabbing of a Catholic priest.

The indictment in Morris County, New Jersey charged Jose Feliciano with murder, robbery, weapons offences and hindering arrest.

Prosecutors have claimed that Feliciano stabbed Father Edward Hinds 32 times in the rectory kitchen at St Patrick Parish.
