>> 'Extreme job-hunting' tactics are on the rise. This is when a prospective employee uses attention-grabbing methods to guarantee that their CV is looked at. Remember Jobless Paddy's billboard campaign (which he decided upon after sending out some 200 job applications)? Feilim Mac An Iomaire (above left) is now working in PR for Paddy Power.

>> American Alec Brownstein's (left) approach was even more impressive. He spent less than $10 on Google ads that were triggered when the creative directors he wanted to work for Googled themselves (who doesn't?). One read: "Hey, Ian Reichenthal. Googling yourself is a lot of fun. Hiring me is fun, too." He set his sights on five employers. Four offered him an interview. Two offered him a job. KB
