Switching pays off big time
THE National Consumer Agency reports that 95pc of people who switch service providers save money. We're most likely to take the plunge with car and home insurance, but let's not stop there.
The ESB lost 900,000 customers in the last 18 months as customers moved to competitors - the State utility company is currently undergoing an extensive (and expensive) ad campaign to get them back, offering reductions of 6-12pc on bundled services. So competition works. Customers need to vote with their feet.
