stars with some spring in THEIR COATS
it may still be cold outside, but we need to brighten up while we wrap up. ANNA COOGAN reveals how celebs stay warm, but look cool
it's the most awkward of weather, because while it's still cold, the arrival of spring makes our winter coats seem old. So what's a gal to wear? Stars have been out and about in what could easily be described as spring coats. For starters, the coats are no longer all black or grey, but are bursting with the colours of spring.
Actress Eva Mendes (39) couldn't have looked more like she had a spring in her step when she left her hotel in New York on Monday.
Her bright pink coat swung around her fishnet-clad legs, while her Louboutin shoe boots and box handbag added a 1950s touch to her outfit.
Oscar-nominated actress Jessica Chastain (35) chose a Burberry trench to go over a vintage YSL dress and Christian Louboutin shoes when she attended the Saint Laurent ready-to-wear fashion show in Paris.
Miroslava Duma (25), a former editor for Harper's Bazaar in Russia, stole the show at the Valentino fall/winter fashion show at the Jardin des Tuileries in Paris when she wore a stunning belted Valentino coat.
Singer Pixie Lott (22) showed off her pins in a scarlet mini-coat dress for the launch of fashion photographer Rankin's Nokia Collabor8te project in London.
Media personality Alexa Chung (29) wore a soft, fuzzy powder-blue coat by Philosophy Di Alberta Ferretti and painted her nails to match for The Armory Party at MOMA in New York.
Model and actress Olivia Palermo (29) looked striking at New York fashion week in a Marchesa bejewelled swing coat and clutch.
Meanwhile, Victoria Beckham (38) showed why she's the best representative for her fashion line when she wore a merlot-coloured, wool twill coat for her VB collection.
Singer Solange Knowles (26) was spotted in her spring brights outside of The Late Show with David Letterman studios in New York City.
Her yellow top and skirt were enhanced by a Proenza Schouler signal-orange twill coat, and she accessorised with even more yellow – including a leather wristlet and suede, point-toe pumps.
Vogue editor Anna Wintour (63) attended the Mulberry and Matthew Williamson fashion shows wearing a favourite Prada Spring 2013 midnight-blue coat with white roses applique. And Actress Jessica Biel (31) was seen strolling in New York City this week wearing a cosy-looking, light-grey coat.
Sarah Jessica Parker (47) was recently spotted leaving her home in New York City wearing a colourful dress from Mary Katrantzou's spring 2013 collection.
She added an equally colourful Giambattista Valli Couture coat to her look.
Meanwhile, TV presenter Laura Whitmore (27) nailed it with a stylish Sixties-inspired, on-the-knee transition coat.
