Pamela Flood: 'I'm fitter than ever after having kids at 39'
Former model Pamela Flood has revealed that she's happy that she waited to have kids until she was almost 40.
The blonde beauty (43) became a mother for the first time when she was 39 and said that although it might not be the choice made by other women, it was the right thing for her.
"I'm not saying to everybody to have their babies at 39, but I honestly believe I was in a much better place at that age," she said. "Earlier is maybe right for some people but I certainly think, all things considered, it was the right thing for me."
The mum-of-two said that running after the kids is no problem for her as she's as fit as she was in thirties after giving up smoking.
"I think I have as much energy as I did ten or 15 years ago. My life is different now. I smoked for about 20 years, I gave up long before I had my kids but I don't smoke anymore and I hardly drink alcohol," she said.
"Emotionally, mentally even physically, I've never been in stronger shape. If you can take care of yourself, you can take care of your children," Pamela told RSVP Magazine.
"I'm 43 and I was showing my son how to cartwheel in the park last week. It's such an individual thing. Some people are old at 40, others are young and vibrant at 50," she added.
While Pamela has settled into motherhood, her former Off The Rails co-presenter Caroline Morahan revealed that she has no plans to start a family any time soon.
The LA-based actress, who married husband Daithi O Caoimh in a lavish Italian ceremony in 2012, said that while she isn't ruling out having children, she's happy with her life at the moment.
"It is not particularly on my radar right now, but I have a dog and she is pretty much a handful at the moment," she told the magazine.
"I am not one of those people who are totally against having children, it just hasn't happened for me yet."
