ABelow is a recipe for a great breakfast on the go. It's a super-healthy and delicious breakfast smoothie that both adults and children love. You can prepare the ingredients the night before and it's easily transportable in a travel cup. The recipe serves two.
Put three tablespoons of oats, one cup of mixed berries (frozen is fine), 1 tablespoon of ground mixed seeds/nuts and one small banana into a blender and cover with a splash of milk of your choice – cows', oat, almond or soya milk – and process until smooth. If you require additional sweetness, use some honey or agave syrup, but the banana should provide enough sweetness.
The berries are full of immune-boosting vitamin C and antioxidants, while the banana provides mood-enhancing nutrients and potassium. The oats/nuts/seeds are filling, plus add additional protein and fibre that boost concentration, as well as providing lasting energy.
