All of Dublin will be a stage when catwalks, models and new season fashion take over the city's streets for the Dublin Fashion Festival next month.

The city's fashionistas, including models Holly Carpenter, Roz Purcell and Aoife Walsh, were out in force at the glamorous launch in City Hall last night. Bloggers Ciara O'Doherty and Suzanne Jackson chatted to UTV Ireland news anchor Alison Comyn.

It was a fleeting visit for Alison, who dropped in to the fashion launch in between Ireland Live broadcasts.

While their news programmes haven't been doing the best in the ratings, Alison is confident UTV Ireland is on the right track.

"We're touching on one hundred thousand viewers most nights, so we're delighted with that," she told the Herald.

Clyde Carroll, director of marketing and communications for DublinTown, said the city will "come alive" during the festival.

"We're putting a permanent stage on Henry Street and Grafton Street from September 10-12, with fashion shows and hair and make-up tutorials," he said.

Aspiring photgraphers can vie to become Canon's Young Fashion Photographer during the festival.
