Thanks to all the volunteers
With the sheer numbers of participants making the Mini Marathon a bigger event year after year, it requires an even greater number of volunteers to keep it running (no pun intended) as smoothly as it does.
These helping hands make sure that registration goes like clockwork; that there's plenty of water for the runners and walkers along the course; keep an eye on the course throughout the day; and ensure that everyone receives their medal at the finish line – among a myriad of other duties that may not catch the public eye, but nevertheless are vital to the success of the event.
There were 1,000 volunteers doing their bit on the day. On behalf of everyone involved, thanks for all your hard work.
KEEP YOUR EYES PEELED
If you haven't spotted yourself in our pages, there's always the telly. Race highlights will be broadcast on Setanta Sports Ireland on Thursday at 8.30pm and will be repeated Friday at 11.30am. The broadcasters do a terrific job, of capturing the thrill and buzz of the day.
Who knows, you may find yourself running through the homes of millions of viewers. Now, that's something you wouldn't want to miss, isn't it?
BE A PART OF IT ALL YEAR ROUND
With an active Facebook page and Twitter feed, the Mini Marathon doesn't just happen on the day. Participate year round by checking updates, and adding some of your own.
