'A great social outlet'

"We introduced the Aura Running Academy in early 2011. The group meets every Monday morning at 9.45am and Siobhan Payne is the fitness instructor who leads the running group each week.

"The number of members can vary, but we generally have between six and 15. We are currently expanding for this year's Flora Women's Mini Marathon and aim to have 50 ladies travelling from Trim to Dublin on June 3.

"We have put together training plans for members who cannot make the morning group but would like to train for the Flora Women's Mini Marathon.

Hardcore

"Everyone is welcome to sign up to the group, whatever their ability. We have members taking part in their first 5km race this month and another hardcore group who will be doing a half marathon on the same day.

"There are a lot of inspirational stories from our members. We have a lady who participated in our weight-loss competition before Christmas and lost over a stone. This gave her the confidence to start running with Siobhan and she completed her first 5km race last month.

Confidence

"I think a Meet & Train group helps to provide people with confidence and persistence to achieve their goals; our trainer Siobhan takes no nonsense. It's also a great social outlet for our members to meet up and they can also organise their own additional training runs.

"The Flora Women's Mini Marathon is important to our group and it will be a goal for many of our members this year. Aura Trim is organising to take a group of ladies from Trim to Dublin for the event.

"We are always on the lookout for new members, too, so walkers, joggers and runners are all welcome.

"Our tips for the big day itself would be to bring a small bottle of water to the start line and take your time over the first 3km.

"Enjoy the atmosphere and smile for the cameras."
