It's U3 as Bono's girls take on New York Fashion Week
ALI Hewson proved that she knows how to do New York Fashion Week in style as her clothing brand, Edun, took to the catwalk.
Bono’s wife was flanked by model Helena Christensen and presenter Alexa Chung at the latest showing of her company’s designs.
Danish model Helena is a regular attendee at the label’s shows.
There was more moral support for the 53-year-old in the form of her oldest daughters Eve and Jordan who were there for the showing of their mum’s ethical clothing venture.
Edun’s offerings on the catwalk saw lots of tribal influence with shift dresses and fringed skirts in bold patterns. However, for the stylish Hewson ladies it was all about a pared-back, minimalistic look for the fashion event of the year.
Eve (23) and Jordan (25) opted for similar monochrome outfits with cropped tops and black trousers.
Both ladies have been making their mark Stateside in their chosen careers.
The younger of the two siblings, Eve, has been busy establishing herself as an actress.
Meanwhile, Jordan is pursuing a career in journalism and was recently appointed online editor at Global Citizen. The website aims to promote equality and defeat poverty.
Edun was founded by Ali and her husband nine years ago and is designed to promote ethical trading.
It is based on a model of fair trade and sustainability.
Newly-appointed creative director of the company Danielle Sherman unveiled her latest creations for autumn/winter 2015 at the Skylight Modern venue.
Recently, it emerged that the company racked up considerable losses in recent years but its directors, and owners, are confident that they can make the label successful.
Bono has revealed that the fashion industry makes the notoriously cut-throat music business look like “a piece of cake”. Yesterday, however, it was strictly a girls’ day out as the frontman skipped New York Fashion Week.
The brand has managed to gain support with some key A-list trend-setters and supermodel Lily Cole revealed that the brand was one of her favourites due to its ethical standards.
Ali Hewson wasn’t the only entrepreneurial mum to have the support of her family this week as the models took to catwalks in the city that never sleeps.
The entire Beckham clan supported Victoria as she showcased her clothing line’s next season offerings.
Dublin-born designer Zoe Jordan also showcased her collection this week to great reviews.
