Is it love that brings a rosy glow to your face or is it a good blusher?
MAC Mineralize Blush, in New Romance
Mineral make-up isn't going anywhere, and just as well - the best brands really do last a long time. This is one of the best brands, and this blush is brilliant. It's typically intense MAC pigment, so go easy until you figure out how much you need. Lasts an entire working day - truth.
I made the mistake of trying to use a brush to apply this - doh! It's a cream that turns into a powder. But once it's on your cheeks, you can use a brush to move it around. Seems like a dual-purpose that doesn't really work. Love the tone, though, and the packaging is adorbs.
Clinique Chubby Stick Cheek Colour Balm, in Roly Poly Rosy
This is my fave in the Chubby Stick line, over the eye shadow and lippy. A tiny dot of it not only gave great coverage, but lasted as long as any of the mineral blushes I tested.
Fuschia Make-Up Blush, in Glow
More mineral make-up, and I do like this loads. It's terribly unportable, though, as it is a loose powder in a wee pot that just seems like an accident waiting to happen. This lasts long enough that you may not need to touch-up.
Physicians formula pH Matchmaker in natural
This is meant to adjust to your skin tone; when I applied it, it looked just like it did in the compact. Am I universal? The package is a bit cumbersome, but it comes with a brush that fits in it so it works out in the end. It also comes with a light that is purely a gimmick as it shines directly in the eyes.
NYC Beautifying Blushable Cream Stick in Soho Pink
This price point cannot be beaten, and the quality of the stick is impressive. It needed maybe a bit more touching-up than those others, however, so if you want to set it and forget it you won't be able to. Still, it's super- portable and really good value!
I can take or leave a spot of blusher in my cheeks, but when I use a good one I wonder why I ever left it off. I am quite enamoured with a few of these . . .
