I am a member of Trinity College gym and I try to get there twice a week for a mix of cardio and weights. It's a great way to de-stress after a hard day. I'll try and fit in a walk or a run as well -- weather permitting.
Do you take vitamins or supplements?
I try to eat a balanced diet so I can get the nutrients I need from the right food types. I do tend to take vitamin C towards the winter though to ward off the dreaded runny nose!
Have you ever been in hospital?
I had kidney reflux and I have had six operations to fix it, up until I was 11. I used to dread going to the hospital for tests, X-rays and the actual operations. Myself and my sister inherited the problem from the family genes. However, thanks to an advancement in treated, we were some of the first to have non-invasive surgery to fix us. Neither of us have ever had problems since.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE CURE?
My favourite one, and the most simple, is a cup of boiling water. Whenever I feel sick or nauseous it just neutralises my dodgy tummy!
DO YOU GET YOUR FIVE-A-DAY?
Definitely, I love vegetables especially spinach. You'll see me turn into Popeye before long!
Coffee. I'm in love with my Nespresso machine.
DO YOU DIET?
Not so much, but I recently did the Dukan diet and it has been a great way to lose a couple of pounds in a healthy way. You have to stick at it though. The book was excellent and had lots of recipe ideas, too.
WHAT'S YOUR DIET LIKE?
I try to eat well but, in reality, when you are on the go, it is easy to default to processed foods. I have become very conscious of the fat and sugar content of these foods so I am making a huge effort to prepare my own food.
HOW MANY HOURS' SLEEP DO YOU NEED?
About eight. I don't feel the same on little sleep.
HOW MANY HOURS DO YOU ACTUALLY GET?
In reality, seven to eight. I go to bed early and get up early.
DO YOU HAVE ANY HEALTH GOALS?
I just want to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I am prone to high cholesterol so I am determined to keep that under control.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE LEISURE ACTIVITY?
I love walking. I throw on my iPod, set up a great playlist, and power walk for miles.
