Sorry, but it's time to think about winter

NICE and all as the weekend was, it really is time to start thinking about your winter wardrobe. One of the keys to making a smooth seasonal transformation is choosing a good coat. It's always wise to go for plain over pattern and black wins hands down every time for its endurance and style.

We love the Ariana coat (pictured right, €155) from Monsoon Fusion, the younger, quirkier sister and diffusion range for Monsoon.

Battle on with your biker boot-style FitFlops There is nothing more comfortable than the FitFlop range. You can walk for miles and miles in anything they produce and there won't be a scratch on your feet, which is why so many of us were genuinely excited when they extended their range far beyond the standard flip- flop. Their gladiator-style Arena sandal (you'll have seen it on the back of buses this summer) was a big seller and there is plenty to choose from for the autumn. We like the Crush Boot (above, in shops from August, €150) a lot, but keep an eye too for the Polar Sneaker (available from September, €179) and the Due (€99.95), a ballerina-style shoe in shops this week.

Spot the difference with this hand cream

The success of the Even Better Dark Spot Correcting range from Clinique is well deserved -- those ads with the speckled and less speckled eggs tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth as this really does reduce the appearance of skin pigmentation marks.

Hence the genuine excitement surrounding the introduction of its Even Better Dark Spot Correcting Hand Cream SPF 15 (left, €29.50).
