Do you go to the gym or classes?

I generally aim to go to the gym twice a week, but with work and other plans, it doesn't always work out that way.

Do you take vitamins or supplements?

I take cod-liver oil and flaxseed oil every day -- both are great for hair, skin and nails and I find it works very well for me as my skin can get dry and I sometimes suffer with a touch of psoriasis.

Have you ever been in hospital?

When I was around 16 I had appendicitis and had to have it removed through keyhole surgery. I also had a small procedure carried out on my eye last year, but nothing major, thankfully.

What was your worst illness?

The appendicitis began as a rumbling appendix and would flare up painfully for some time before it was taken out.

The best cure for things like a cold and flu is bed, a hot water bottle, lots of tea and toast with honey and a good book or two -- rest, basically.

Would you get your five a day?

I rarely get my five a day, unfortunately, as I can't stand vegetables, despite years of trying my best to stomach them. I love all kinds of fruit so I eat a lot, especially in the summer -- I would probably get close to five a day during those months, but, in winter, I don't get that much.

Any vices?

I have a bit of a sweet tooth and probably eat more junk food and sweets than I should. Also, takeaway coffees; I drink far too much caffeine and would probably have two coffees and at least two or three cups of tea in a day.

Ever dieted?

I have never really dieted. I do keep an eye on what I eat but I'm very casual about it. If I've had a busy week and have been eating badly I would try to make up for it by cutting down on junk food and eating more healthily for a few days.

Any family ailments?

None that I know of, other than high cholesterol.

How many hours sleep would you get a night?

I usually get about seven on a work night and the weekends will depend on whether I go out or not.

Do you have any health goals?

I have asthma so one of my goals is to increase my fitness levels while keeping my asthma under control. One day I'd love to run a marathon, or even a mini-marathon, but I find that jogging or even brisk walking can sometimes be a problem.

Do you smoke or have you ever smoked?

No I don't smoke and never have.

What is your favourite leisure activity?

Most of my leisure time is spent with friends, going to the cinema or for coffee after work.
