What was the last thing you ate?

Handful of nuts, I need a boost mid-afternoon.

Do you go to the gym or classes?

No, waste of time and money.

I believe in CrossFit, which is a combination of sprinting, weightlifting and gymnastics.

Crossfit North Dublin and the newly established CrossFit 15 are excellent.

The coaches are brilliant, which is important as it's the coaches that make CrossFit work and not just the brand.

Do you take vitamins or supplements?

Mutli-vitamins and fish oils. I try to get the rest of my nutrients from food.

What foods always go in your

shopping trolley?

Chicken, oatcakes, eggs, broccoli, steak, hummus, the list is endless in fact. There'll be every type of meat, good fats and green vegetables.

Have you ever been in hospital?

Of course. Nothing too serious, the usual kiddie stuff.

What was your worst illness?

What is your favourite cure?

Rest. Time truly is the best healer.

Would you get your five a day?

Most days.

What is your

favourite meal

to cook?

Simple. Good quality meat cooked to perfection.

Any vices?

Red wine!

Have you

ever dieted?

Yes. Who hasn't? But now I control my carbohydrates by sticking to Paleo nutrition theory.

(The Paleolithic Diet, also popularly referred to as the Caveman Diet, is a modern nutritional plan based on the ancient diet of wild plants and animals that people consumed during the Paleolithic era -- a period of about 2.5 million years' duration that ended around 10,000 years ago with the development of agriculture.)

Any family ailments?

Not that I'm aware of, but both my parents wear glasses.

How many hours sleep do you get a night?

At least eight hours every night. Is that boring? Sleep is so so important for my mind and body to function properly.

Do you have any health goals?

To reduce body fat and put on lean muscle, but it's hard work.

Do you smoke or have

you ever smoked?

No, it must be awful. But hey, some people enjoy it.

Choose one food to bring to a desert island with you

What a question. I love all food. I'd be ages packing.
