ALL this remover is targeted for the eyes, but it should also help you get your sparkle back after the holidays...
MARKS & SPENCER FORMULA SKIN CARE Daily Care: Gentle Eye Make-up Remover, €4.75, 1/5
There's gentle, and there's not at all effective. This is the latter, I'm afraid. I tried this on several types of eye make-up, and it just about could handle removing eye pencil -- forget about mascara. Not helpful at all.
ESTEE LAUDER Gentle Eye Make-up Remover, €22, 3/5
Gently but thoroughly removes a medium amount of eye enhancement, in the usual manner. There's a learning curve, however, when it comes to dispensing the liquid on the pad. Sounds silly, I hear you thinking, but in fact I wasted quite a lot of it by squeezing the not very squeezy bottle. It's a shake, not a squeeze, which is not evident.
OLAY Eye Make-up Remover, €3.45, 2/5
Not terribly thorough: went through two-and-a-half cotton pads on each eye, and there wasn't an excessive amount of make-up adorning either eye. Also: dislike the feeling of having to rub cream on the sensitive eye area.
DERMALOGICA Soothing Eye Make-up Remover, €25, 4/5
This works really well when you use it correctly: you have to moisten the cotton pad and then put this on, and then apply to the eye. How moist is too moist? That's up to you to figure out. I found it to be a bit of a pain, and when there's too much water, it only serves to make a big smear, and then you have to use another pad. A bit fussy.
VICHY Purete Thermale: Waterproof Eye Make-up Remover for Sensitive Eyes, €13.75, 5/5
The best, the best, the best! Will remove even the seemingly endless layers of eye stuff as applied during a smoky eye makeover by an industry professional. Give it an auld shake to mix the oil and the liquid and your make-up is away in a hack. The best! Did I say that already?
