Westwood wows star style fans
Orange-haired Vivienne Westwood refused to be pinned down by any one style, wowing London Fashion Week fans with a strong show marked by its variety and beauty.
The clothes on display were all different -- and for the most part sophisticated and alluring -- but the models' makeup all had something very much in common: Blue and other bright colours, streaked on more as a watercolour than as a beauty aid.
The results were impressive, even if the models looked a bit strange after the show, walking in London's crowded theatre district with their faces still smeared light blue.
"I just think her work is very beautiful," Baywatch actress Pamela Anderson said after the show.
"I love all the short stuff, and the bags. Everything she does is gorgeous, she knows how to dress a woman, that's for sure.
"I'd rather wear nothing, or Vivienne. She knows how to work it all in."
Anderson said she has a "Vivienne closet" in her home filled with a variety of outfits.
Singer Roisin Murphy, TV presenter Cat Deeley, model Elle McPherson and Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts were among those to attend London Fashion Week.
Cat Deeley loved the Matthew Williamson show, saying: "I really liked the iridescent snakeskin-like material on the skirts," she said.
Sienna and Savannah Miller did not disappoint their fans, winning over the crowd with slinky mini-dresses, tight black cocktail dresses, and a series of jersey outfits, some with revealing cutaways.
Actor Jude Law, Sienna Miller's on-again-off-again sweetheart, pronounced the show a success after viewing it from a front-row perch.
"I don't know how she finds the time to do it, but she spends lots and lots of time designing," said Law, who particularly admired a short black cocktail dress and another outfit featuring a white shirt styled with a small cape on the back.
