Gadget Gal: Neutrogena Wave Duo

OH YEAH? Yeah, I got this Neutrogena Wave Duo thing, which is meant to deep clean your face, and while I would immediately think of my Tried & Tested beauty column, which runs on Wednesdays, this seemed gadgety to me.

Anything with batteries seems gadgety to me.

OH YEAH? Yeah, I got this Neutrogena Wave Duo thing, which is meant to deep clean your face, and while I would immediately think of my Tried & Tested beauty column, which runs on Wednesdays, this seemed gadgety to me. Anything with batteries seems gadgety to me.

OH REALLY? Are you thinking naughty thoughts? Anyway, so here we are, testing out a beauty product in the gadget column. The Neutrogena Wave Duo is an improvement on the original Wave, in that it runs at two speeds: one for daily use, and a stronger second speed for serious deep cleaning. I was little nervous of using a battery-operated object in the shower, but it is totally waterproof (obviously, or I wouldn't have lived to tell).

SO DO TELL: HOW IS IT? It's pretty amazingly excellent. I was a bit dubious, simply because I have used many a face exfoliator and I'm very suspicious of bells and whistles when it comes to beauty products, but I have to say that the Wave Duo really does take cleansing a big step further.

IT WORKS, THEN. It does. I like to go for the brisker setting, since it's good to get rid of as much dead skin and old self-tan as possible, at this time of year. The moisturised pads that come with the gadget attach really simply to the device, and foam up nicely as you run the Wave over your face. And, from the state of the pad after use, I could see that it had really done a superlative job.

The only thing I will say is that the way they package the pads is not so great; there's a danger that they could dry out, as the foil-like pack doesn't seem at all airtight. But otherwise? This is super fantastic.

The Neutrogena Wave Duo retails for €9.99 and is available from pharmacies and supermarkets nationwide
