Check out your cholesterol at the Flora show

ARE you concerned about high cholesterol? Do you even know what your cholesterol level is?

The Flora pro.activ Cholesterol Roadshow is travelling to locations across Ireland to offer free cholesterol checks and expert advice on diet and lifestyle. The Flora pro.activ nurses will conduct the cholesterol checks, which take just five minutes of your time, and offer tailored dietary advice based on your results.

A full schedule of testing dates and venues are available at www.floraproactivroadshow.ie

Last year, the Flora pro.activ Cholesterol Roadshow carried out nearly 1,500 cholesterol checks on members of the public in towns throughout Ireland. The survey results generated from the screening campaign found that 58pc of Irish adults had a cholesterol level greater than 5mmol/l, the maximum recommended by Irish and International health professionals.

Flora pro.activ is clinically proven to lower cholesterol, which is a major risk factor in developing heart disease. Plant sterols actively remove cholesterol from the body by partly blocking the absorption of cholesterol in the gut. Cholesterol that isn't absorbed is then removed from the body resulting in a lowering of total and bad (LDL) cholesterol levels.

Independent clinical studies confirm that eating 1.5g to 2.4g of plant sterols a day can lower LDL cholesterol by 7-10pc in just two to three weeks. You can get your daily requirement of plant sterols with just three portions of Flora pro.activ spread a day.
