Everyone wanted to pay tribute to that important male figure in their lives yesterday – and it seems some of our most famous faces were no different.
Some of the country’s best-known celebs took to social media to wish their dads a happy Father’s Day.
Boyzone star Ronan Keating led the tributes with a post on instagram dedicated to his father, Gerry.
The crooner shared a childhood picture of him and his dad.
“Hey Pops Happy Father’s Day. Thank you for everything,” he captioned the picture.
The singer was also treated to a surprise from his three children Jack, Missy and Ali, who created a homemade card using chocolate bars to spell out their Father’s Day message to their famous dad.
Broadcaster Angela Scanlon thanked her father on Twitter and shared a heartwarming photo of the pair.
It was a family affair for one well-known family, as author Cecelia Ahern spent the day with her famous dad, former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern, and tweeted a selfie of them smiling to mark the occasion.
Her sister Georgina and Westlife singer husband Nicky Byrne were also on hand to wish Bertie a happy Father’s Day, sharing their own photo with the ex-politician.
Irish rugby legend turned broadcaster Brian O’Driscoll showed off the card he received from his children Sadie and Billy.
However the retired player admitted his suspicions that his actress wife Amy Huberman was behind the card.
“My seven month old has doctor’s writing,” he joked.
The Voice of Ireland coach Una Foden paid tribute to her father, John, and husband, Ben, in the same message.
“Happy Father’s Day to my wonderful Daddy Healy and to @ben_foden for being such an amazing Dad to my kids,” she wrote.
