Can I resist making 'the eyes have it' pun this week? Clearly not
No7 Lash Impact Intense Volume Control
I liked this loads, as it came out of the tube and onto my lashes as fully dark and rich as I wanted. It tended to melt a bit in the hot weather, so not perfect, but one I'll be wearing out in the autumn, for sure.
ISADORA Flashing Volume Instant Effect Mascara
This is perfect. One round of application and every lash is defined and lengthened. Things can get a bit clumpy if, like me, one coat is never enough for you - but that's what lash combs are for. This looked fresh and fabulous the whole day, and I do mean the whole, long, entire day.
NYX Doll Eye Waterproof Mascara
This was the driest mascara I've ever tried to get on my lashes. It was as though there was almost no product coming out of the tube. I tried it and tried it, to no avail. No thanks.
RIMMEL LONDON Kate Rockin' Curves Mascara
Here, it's the actual brush part that's gone all curvy. It doesn't really make that much of a difference to the application, frankly. I did like the richness of the pigment though, so even though the gimmick didn't wow me, the actual product did.
LANCÔME Grandiose Mascara
I generally heart Lancôme's offering as regards mascaras, but this one, not so much. It boasts a unique swan-neck applicator, which is all twisty and turny, so that you don't have to contort yourself to get the brush close to your lashes, and is meant to keep it safely away from your lids. It works to a degree; I found the product itself to be not-black enough, though.
L'ORÉAL PARIS Volume Million Lashes So Couture
This has eensy spikes on the wand, and I felt like every single lash was being individually coated. It is also deeply, richly black from the first use. You'll need several coats though, to get all-day volume.
One of the best things you can say about any modern mascara is that they make your lashes look fake without the falsies fuss. You'll find some keepers for your peepers this week...
