Vogue Williams: 'After eating a live scorpion, I have no fear of spiders in bath'
Model-turned-presenter Vogue Williams has revealed she's much tougher since braving the Central American Rainforest on Bear Grylls' new survival show.
The Howth native said the experience on Mission Survive has made her more adventurous - even at getting rid of creepy crawlies in her house.
"There was a spider in my bath the other day and I got rid of it," she said.
"I wasn't bothered. I picked it up and I had it in my hands."
The 28-year-old, who is married to Brian McFadden said she signed up for the show in order to experience something different.
"I had got so used to life at home, I wasn't doing anything to push myself out of my comfort zone," she explained.
"I felt I was getting a bit boring and I wanted to do something exciting.
"This has to be the most insane thing I have ever done. I also didn't realise what it was going to be like - I thought we would be sleeping in a teepee," she added.
Not unlike I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, Vogue had to eat some gross bugs.
"The hardest challenge was eating a live scorpion. I had my moment in the jungle, I was so terrified, I couldn't stop shaking and crying," she revealed.
"After I swallowed it, I was thinking 'Oh my god, what if it is still alive? What am I going to do?'
"I even cried afterwards I was so happy I had done it," she added.
While they've been happily married since 2012, Vogue revealed she "missed food more than I missed Brian".
She also admitted that she "lost over half-a-stone" while in the jungle but Vogue admits she got used to eating all the creepy crawlies.
"I had to eat a cricket with earthworms - that tasted bad. I had to eat a tarantula but that was not so bad," she told TV Now.
"When I first got home, I was a little bored because we were doing so many crazy things every day out in the jungle," she added.
