Voice of Ireland co-presenter Eoghan McDermott has said he thinks Una Foden is looking gorgeous because of her pregnancy.

And he thinks Una will be a bigger hit with viewers than fellow coach Rachel Stevens.

"It will be interesting. I'm a fan of Una and I think Rachel is very, very reserved. She's proper, stiff upper lip British," he told the Herald.

"I'd say viewers may find it hard to relate to her - that will be a challenge for her. She's a lovely person, though. She's beautiful, but I can't see past Una, who's amazing and has the pregnant glow thing going on, so she's radiant."

Eoghan (31) also revealed that Rachel found being wedged between buddies Bressie and Kian tough going as it took her a while to get used to the Irish lingo.

"When she's sitting between Kian and Bressie, she struggled a little bit in the blind auditions when it came to the banter - she couldn't really take it in," he said.

"She found it tough sitting in between the two lads and it was a rude awakening for her - but she got into it."

The 2fm presenter also jumped to the defence of former Voice of Ireland coach Dolores O'Riordan who was arrested and taken to hospital following an incident that took place on a flight from New York to Shannon on Monday.

O'Riordan (43) was allegedly disruptive on board the Aer Lingus flight amid claims that an attendant and a garda who was called to the scene were assaulted.

"I think she's amazing. Obviously she was taken to hospital so you just wish her well and hope everything is okay," said Eoghan.

"At the same time, it's awful for the air hostess. I think Dolores is great and will always stick up for her. She's an awesome person.

"I remember she told us that she had moved to a pretty desolate part of Canada just because she liked the solitude a bit - so I don't know if she just gets anxious around people or confined spaces or something.

"I just wish her well. I think that of everyone she was my favourite coach on The Voice."
