TV star Claire Byrne wants 'streamlined' wedding
Claire Byrne has insisted she won't be turning into a bridezilla when it comes to planning her nuptials.
The RTE presenter is engaged to Gerry Sconlan but their plans to get married last year were put on the back-burner when Claire discovered she was pregnant.
The couple have two children, Patrick (18 months) and Jane (five months) and Claire says the wedding plans have taken a back seat for the moment.
"It is rattling around in the back of our minds but it won't be this year," she told the Herald.
"We will do it - it's just a question of when. It will be low key, with just family and close friends.
"I have no intention of going shopping for a big wedding dress," she continued.
"Whenever I do it, I'm not going to be in a big gown - I've no time for any of that stuff now, so it'll all be streamlined - the celebrations, the wedding and the dress.
"Simple and easy is my motto at the moment, so we'll keep it all straight-forward," she added.
The 39-year-old is busy with her show Claire Byrne Live and she says she's happy with how it's going.
"It's going really well, we're heading for our eighth show tonight and we have Brendan O'Carroll coming in as a guest," she revealed.
"He's the grand marshal for the St Patrick's Day parade so we're having a discussion on what kind of Ireland he is leading out at the parade so I'm looking forward to that."
