Rory O'Connell teaching us to cook well is just one of the highlights this evening

WITH just a few days to Easter Sunday, his main course would have to include lamb, so Rory O’Connell cooks a very tender roast leg of lamb and mint relish dish, with chickpee and coriander puree, and carrots with lemon. And keeping things simple for afters, Rory prepares a ‘plain cake’, served with strawberries and creme Anglaise cream. Yum, yum!

BBC1, 8pm

JOHN Torode and Gregg Wallace put five more keen cooks to the test in the fourth and final week of heats, and as usual they begin by serving up their Calling Card, a dish that showcases their talents.

The judges’ two favourites then sit it out while the others reinvent what they’ve just made,

creating a new plate of food based on the main ingredient from the first round. After this cookoff, one of the amateurs is sent home, before the remaining four prepare dinner for a trio of former MasterChef champions and runners-up, after which Friday’s first two quarter-finalists will be decided.

IMOGEN is called to one of the worst infestations of clothes moths she has ever seen, while Angela and her dog Alfie are on the case when a pack of rats moves into a terrified farmer’s barn.

Janet deals with some very determined pigeons who have settled in a historic castle on a caravan park and Deborah is called in by the local vicar when a colony of honeybees moves into the church steeple.

CHANNEL 4, 8pm

LAST week an Airbus 320 heading from Barcelona to Dusseldorf crashed in the Alps with the loss of 150 lives, and after initial concerns over mechanical failure or an act of terrorism, it was eventually revealed to be an act of mass murder committed by the co-pilot.

This timely documentary asks whether air travel is still the safest form of transport, examining the airline industry’s safety record and incidents involving pilot error or emotional breakdown.
