Robbie is lined up to take over X Factor
TAKE THAT star Robbie Williams could replace music mogul Simon Cowell on the X Factor panel, it has emerged.
TV bosses have lined up the 36-year-old crooner for the next series of the TV3 reality programme as show maestro Cowell (51) is expected to judge the US version only from now on.
X Factor chiefs are adamant that a big celebrity should be brought on board if Cowell leaves and Williams seems like the perfect substitute seeing as he has sold more records in the UK than any other British solo artist.
"Robbie is a huge name so he'd naturally be a massive ratings hit," a source said.
"Not only that, he is also straight-talking and comical and would be a huge asset if he was signed.
"Obviously none of us want Simon to leave but we all understand that right now America is where his focus has to be."
