Glen Hansard's nieces, Sinead and Amy Hansard, will be looking to their famous uncle for advice after they both got through on The Voice of Ireland last night.

Both singers have performed with Glen in the past and said he was delighted when they told him of their plans to audition on the reality show.

"When we told Glen we were going on the show he was all for it. He's all about building up your experience as a performer," Sinead told the Herald.

Both sisters wanted Una to turn around for them but Sinead (23) is glad that The Saturdays singer only selected her after she sang a version of Waves by Mr Probz.

"To be honest it was a relief when Una didn't turn for Amy as well," Sinead said.

"I'm glad we didn't get the same coach so at least now we won't be put against each other in the Battles."

While Amy (18) said that she didn't get the coach she wanted, both Bressie and Rachel turned their big red chairs after he rendition of Ariana Grande's Problem.

"I decided to pick Rachel because I think she'll pick songs that will suit me more," Amy explained.
